Oh Utah...

Why am I not in Utah right now? I keep asking myself that question, especially after the events over the past few days. You saw my post on Monday about my amazing uncle and the cool experience his family {and my entire extended family} had at the BYU game (on tv nonetheless). And then a few days later it was time for my family {and extended family} to be broadcast on tv yet AGAIN. See the blurb below:

So I say once more, "why am I not in Utah?"
At times I miss that place...but mostly I am just jealous because everyone in my family is famous except for me...

More Confessions (4-10)

#4: I have a HUGE zit on my forehead and it hurts like a mother (no harm intended mom...you know it's just a phrase I love to use and has no reflection whatsoever on your parenting skills)

#5: I feel super fat right now, yet dieting is out of the question

#6: My eyebrows are no longer thin and shapely. In fact it looks as if a small village of hairy monsters has taken up residence

#7: I decided to go for it...I will soon be a brunette again

#8: Halloween is fo' sho' becoming my 2nd favorite holiday

#9: I can't stop shopping for Halloween decorations

#10: I bought a Halloween costume the other day, but worry that I don't have the gonads to pull it off (more on that closer to Halloween). It's a tad bit embarrassing...but it's also pink...so I have to do it

In Loving Memory

This Friday is the one year anniversary (if you call it that) of the passing away of my HERO. My uncle Bryan was an amazing man and I always looked up to him (literally...he was 6' 7"). I will forever remember going to BYU football games and cheering on BIG #72. He played during the era of Ty Detmer and it was exciting!! He was a champion on and off the field and I truly love him for that.

Last weekend Ty Detmer had a benefit dinner and event with all proceeds going to my uncle's family (and another fallen football player's family). There was also a home football game at BYU where Ty Detmer was given the priviledge to carry out the Y flag to start the game. He invited my aunt Stacey and the other football player's wife to run on the field with him. Below is a YouTube video of that excitement:
I so wish I could have been there to see that. In fact, just watching it on the computer brought a little tear to my eye. I am so grateful to know that I will see my uncle again. I am so grateful for caring people who give their time and efforts to help others.
{Love you Bry! Thanks for everything}

Advice

I need your honest opinion friends:

Should I darken my hair again??

My cutest friend Nikki has inspired me to want to be a brunette again (minus the red). What do you think???

{HELP!!}
P.S. My hair is pretty much blonde again. Luckily my hair didn't grow out weird, the color just kind of faded. If the pure brown is a little overwhelming, maybe I could just do some low lights or something... Hmmm...

I know you want one...

alayna’s pink paradise

This buttons is cute right? And you want to post it on your blog right (please refer to hunting threat in previous post)? Well, today is your lucky day! Here is the code you can copy and paste to put this Pink Paradise goodness on your blog...to let everyone know who your favorite blogger (*wink*) is:

{You want me}

Confession #2 and #3

Confession #2: I got myself a blog designer (because I am not smart enough to make my blog cute on my own). My amazing sister-in-law has created an awesome header and button for my blog (if you don't add the button to your blog I WILL hunt you down) and will be adding them soon, along with a new matchy matchy template. Be sure to check back often for some cuteness ala Alayna's Pink Paradise!

Confession #3: I know I had something else to confess, but for the life of me can't remember what it was. So that will remain a mystery for now...

Note: the button will be similar to the one on the right (you know, the cute one that says, "I love MY LIFE"?) which is a link to my sister-in-law's blog.

Confession

Believe it or not, I can't quite seem to get myself motivated to start my diet again. I went off the diet 2 weeks ago, with the intention of being a very good girl and not losing control, and then starting the diet again right after Creative Escape. Well, that didn't work so much...

Feeling Inspired?

Ever since Creative Escape I have been so inspired to be crafty. And the funny thing is, my mom has been the same! Three times last week I stopped at my mom's house after work for a little scrapbooking goodness. Here are some pics to document our scrapbooking fun and the disastrous mess that scrapbooking makes:

Can you believe she's actually scrapbooking?

Scrapbooking requires deep concentration...

Our scrapbooking fun mostly centered on finishing projects from Creative Escape. But one of the days I decided instead to make this cute Halloween picture frame:

I love holidays! I love decorating for holidays! I seriously hate the months of January, May-June and August-September cause my house just feels so blah! I cannot wait for October to roll around so I can actually decorate for a holiday! In fact, the last time my mom was in Utah she went shopping to my new favorite store called Rod Works. Seriously...I love that place! They have the cutest holiday decorations, and just everyday decorations too. I convinced my mom to buy me some things, and honestly, I can't find it in my heart to put them in storage until October. So they are now hanging out in my room...making me excited for the blessed day when they can be displayed in the common areas.

Please excuse the tornado-like mess that is my room. I haven't been motivated to clean...just to make messes. And finally, here is my next holiday decoration project:

If you can't tell, it is a wooden snowman that I will be painting myself. Honestly, I am a little bit scared about this one. Painting and art are not my specialties, but I think it will turn out pretty cute. I will have to post a pic when I finally complete it.

{Happy Creating}

Last Thursday I decided to get a little crazy. I was going to see my friend in court and wanted to look really cute...so I got out the curlers.
I don't know about you, but there is just something about taking your own picture when you look silly that is fun for me...
Here's what I looked like fresh out of the rollers:
Don't worry..I actually fixed my hair before going into public.
The day went well, but then the night time rolled around. My hair was practically curl-less by the end of the day, yet still curly enough that brushing through it made me look like a lion. Here is where the scariness begins: This is what happens when I am super tired, when I look like a freak, and when I have a camera in hand. Brace yourselves...
Aaaahhhh!!!!
The world's coolest comb over
Mmmm...sexy!
60's anyone?
Meow
And finally, sportin' the side ponytail I loved so much as a kid! Bring back memories anyone??
Well, after my camera happiness, it was off to bed. So why not take pictures of myself laying in my bed?
Here it is for your viewing pleasure. And yes, I still sleep with a stuffed animal...

The Sexy Tour

Last night was one of the funnest (yes, it's a word) nights I have had in a while. I had the pleasure of joining my girls Ashlie and Katy on a trip to Dodge Theatre, in Phoenix, to witness the comic genius of Jim Gaffigan (he's even paler in person). Oh my heavens...he was hilarious!! I have not laughed that hard in a long time! My poor cheeks were so sore after the show from smiling so much! I truly enjoyed his comments about bowling, laziness, bacon, ketchup and, of course, Hot Pockets. What a treat! Here are a few pics from the event:

The theatre (or as much of it as I could get in the frame without running across the street) where the "magic" happened

Me and Ashlie posing with Jim (sort of) before the show

Me and Ashlie patiently waiting for the show to begin

Ashlie and Katy after the main event

The three of us waiting for Jim to come out and sign autographs after the show

There he is...

again...

and again...

We truly had a great time! I seriously don't think there was much that I didn't find hysterical. After the show Jim came out to sign autographs and take pictures. We were just standing around waiting for him to come out, but realized where the line up was a little too late. We went to the front of the line and got some good pictures though. We would have been there for hours waiting to get his autograph...so we decided to leave.

After the show we decided to do some man stalking. Katy decided to change out of her adorable purple shoes and into some slippers, but couldn't find any matching pairs. So this is what she wore:

We actually decided to splurge and go to Cold Stone before doing some man stalking. Katy was a little embarrassed about her shoes, but came in anyway. What a champ!

And then this was me at the end of the day. SO TIRED!!! I had to wake up at 5am to go to work (on a Saturday mind you), had to go to the post office to get a passport, had to drive to Florence to visit my friend, and then went to the comedy performance. I had a 19 hour day and I was ready to die. But it was well worth it. Thanks for a fun night girls!

{I always think it's weird when I'm in a city like Chicago and I see a policeman on a horse. For a second I'm like, "Did Canada just invade? Did you come from a time machine?"

You ever see the policeman on the horse? They always have that look on their face like, 'Why is everyone looking at me? I'm just on a two ton animal in the middle of a highway. What's the big deal?'

You think that horse ever comes in handy? There's some robbery. "Copper, I'm gonna kill everyone in here - is that a pony?"

Oh, I love ponies}

Creative Escape

Just a few photos highlighting my CE experience. It was really a great convention, yet I am so glad it's over. Loads of fun, but tons of hard work! On my feet for all hours of the day, smiling and making people happy with my willingness to help and teach. Here I am, the cute little volunteer with the pink apron (don't mind the orb floating next to my nostril): My good pal Julie from the UK (our Bazzill distributor over there). We were traveling volunteers together, meaning we went to all the different classes with one group (vs. staying in the same class and helping the same teacher all weekend).
My relatives (that just so happened to be in my group...hey, I've got connections). Fun having them there, but they sure did make me work hard!
Me and my cutest mom. She doesn't scrapbook, so I'm not sure why she even came...
The fun and excitement never ends! Saturday night we had an amazing dinner served to us and we got to eat dessert first! Mmmm....chocolate! It was delicious! And the keynote speaker afterward was incredible! Nearly wet myself laughing so hard, and nearly wet myself crying at the same time. Awesome!
And finally, after all the fun was over, I hit the waterslide. Thanks to my pal Julie for sportin' the camera and taking pics of me making my way down the slide. And also, sorry for the unattractiveness of me in a swimming suit. The fact that I gained 48lbs in one week while at CE sure didn't help... What you don't see is me getting brave and going down head first. I was going so fast I thought I would fall right out of the slide. But it sure was fun!

For more CE reading check out this blog: http://www.jessicaguthrie.blogspot.com/ and view her post titled "The $6000 Creative Escape shirt." If you look closely, you will see me in pictures #6 and #7. In pic #7 you can see some obvious frustration in my face. Her class was a tough one, and I was a little bit flustered trying to help people catch up. But seriously, read that entire post cause it talks about some amazing generosity.
{have a great wednesday}

shout out

This goes out to my fave pizza boy (you know who you are). We had a little warehouse sale last weekend at Bazzill for the CE attendees. We sell what we call "Bazzill by the Box" where customers can fill a pizza box full of cardstock and pay a very minimal amount of money. During some down time (I was the register girl) I got to make some extra pizza boxes to replenish the stash. Immediately I thought of my friend (I say this like I have ever met this boy) and just had to take a picture. So this one's for you...

{Mmmmm....pizza}

just for fun

Meet Daffy, my parents' new pet:
The parentals were out of town and came home to find a duck swimming in their pool. Daffy has since moved in and now knocks on the back door with his/her beak when she/he is hungry. Strange little fellow...
Just me being silly. My fave treat on the diet would have to be jello. So I got a little camera happy and took a few pictures (ok, maybe like 12) of me eating my one alloted spoonful of jello for the day. Mmmmm....

Remember that day I posted about the whole world being stacked against me? Well here is the proof: the burn on my neck (aka my wannabe hickey). Ouch...
And finally, I just couldn't resist taking this picture. My dear sweet father and I drove to the cabin last weekend. While stuck in traffic we noticed the yellow sign that says "Reduced Speed Ahead" to which we sighed and said, "How can the speed get reduced when we aren't even moving?" Just me, and my weird sense of humor...
{even more silliness later}

i'm baaaaack!

Did you miss me? Ok, so I am not really back, but the Creative Escape weekend is over now. And if I must say so myself, it was a success! However, I am freaking tired and can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow! It seems as if I just barely finished working...

The highlight of the weekend: going face first down the waterslide. Enough said.

Oh, and by the way, I wasn't really bitter about the whole egg thing. Just a silly comment I made that should have been edited. I know my friends all love me and just want me to learn how to hard boil eggs...

{more to come}

So Excited!!!

Today is a special day. Why you might ask? Well, today is break the diet day!!! I get to eat real food {after my weigh in at the doctor tonight}!!! I can't wait!!!

And just in case you get worried, I will not be blogging anytime soon. This week is chaos for me as it is Creative Escape this week. I will be a busy, busy girl catering to 600 crazy scrapbookers. But it will be fun, so I am looking forward to it.

Oh, and thank you to everyone who made me feel stupid for not knowing the "correct" way to hard boil eggs. In reality, that blog wasn't about eggs...but whatever. It was just one more thing stacked against me that day I guess...

{until next week}
