update

So, I went to my Facebook friend's profile (not sure why I didn't think of that before)...

Yeah. He's married. And has a baby. So much for that happy idea...

Oh, and I must know him from my old singles ward 'cause he is friends with all of the people in that ward.

Just thought I would update you.

Facebook

I am addicted to Facebook...and it sucks! All day long I check my farm in Farmville to see if my animals need tended to or if my plants need harvested. It is a sickness and I would highly recommend avoiding Farmville if at all possible.

But this is my concern: I have some friends on Facebook that I don't really know or even know how they became my friend. There is this one guy who I am assuming was in my singles ward or possibly even went to high school with me...but I have no clue! We are now neighbors in Farmville, and he keeps sending me presents for my farm. I am not complaining, I love free gifts. But he keeps sending me date trees... SEVERAL of them... What does this mean??

I am in heaven...

Cereal heaven, that is!

You see, I have become quite the bargain hunter. A few weeks ago I discovered the pure bliss that comes from looking at the grocery ads that come in the mail every week. Normally I shop at good old Walmart because I am a poor, tightwad and feel like I can only get good deals at that store. But then the month of October rolled around and I realized that all stores had good deals on pink things due to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I opened my Fry's (aka Smiths in UT) ad and found some really good deals on pink cakes and pink M&Ms to use for my friends' bridal shower... and I have been obsessed with Fry's ads ever since! So imagine my excitement when I opened the ad last week to see that Honey Bunches of Oats (the world's MOST AMAZING cereal) was on sale for $1.57 each when you bought 4 of them!!! I was thrilled!!!

But because I have been a crazy, busy girl the last week or so, I never had time to go to the store. After completing jury duty yesterday (another post, another day) I decided it would be a good idea to stop at the store since the sale ends today. I walked down the cereal aisle only to see empty shelves where the Honey Bunches of Oats were. I was CRUSHED!!! My world stopped turning. I was physically pained. I called my mom because I didn't know what else to do.
But don't worry...I went to another Fry's today on my lunch break...and they had LOTS of Honey Bunches of Oats on their shelves. So I bought 8 of them.

I am a freak, I know. But when something as simple as cereal can make me so happy, I am going to indulge. And I am a very happy girl right now!

a long time coming...

A lot has definitely happened the last little while, but I have barely had time to breathe, let alone blog. So here is my super fast post about something that happened quite a while ago. And just a warning, this blog requires a bit of cooperation on your part. I expect you to participate!!!

I have this dear friend named Sarah. She is awesome! However, she is engaged...so we don't really hang out. EVER. In fact, I am planning a bridal shower for her this weekend which is a lot of the reason I have been so busy lately. But I still love her dearly and consider her one of my best gals. One day, out of the blue, she called me with a proposition. She asked if I would like to accompany her and her family to a Diamondbacks game, because her sister was in a group that was singing the National Anthem and they had an extra ticket. I jumped at the chance...I mean, hanging out with Sarah is a rare treasure these days. So to the game we went. Our seats were great:We were upclose and personal to the action, which was nice.

The game, however, was not so great. The highlight of the game was definitely this:...the fireworks AFTER the game...

Because, as you will see below, not much happened during the game:Those are all zeros my friends...

But, you know me, I always find a way to entertain myself. I decided to do a little husband searching while at the game and the choices below are what I found:
An older gentleman, probably well off and settled into life...complete with horseshoe hair and ponytail.

The pornstache. Need I say more??

And this fine gentleman...

So, this is where your participation comes in. I would like your opinion. Who do YOU think is my perfect match?? Leave me a comment and let me know. I am curious...

And you can pretty much bet I just booked myself a ticket to hell for posting this. But I wouldn't be surprised if some guy took my picture at the game and did the same thing on his blog. It's all in good fun, right?? I really do love all of God's creatures...

Coming soon...the Branch Halloween party (can't post about it yet 'cause I can't reveal my costume when my co-workers haven't seen it yet), Sarah's bridal shower, MY Halloween party, and possibly some other things. Stay tuned.

speaking of rockstars...

There are some boys in my branch/ward...that formed a band...and that band is pretty dang good! On Saturday night I had the privilege of attending their CD release concert. I bought the CD...and I am lovin' it. I would highly recommend going to their site to preview a few songs from the album. Personally, I really like the song "Take the Lead"...but my FAVORITE song is not on the site and is entitled, "Wait for it." There is just something about violins mixed with rock music that makes my heart sing. Anyway, I am sure I could figure out how to get you a CD if you wanted one...

But one day, when they are famous, I will say, "Hey, the lead singer of the group 'Wait for the Moment' was in my branch...and he was my faithful home teacher and fellow choir member. The guy who plays the bass was in my branch and choir too. And the drummer used to be in my old ward." And then people will think I am cool. Or atleast, that is my hope...

Rockstar

My Dad is a Rockstar!!!!
Surgery was yesterday morning. This morning he was discharged from ICU and walked...on his own two feet...without any help...to his new hospital room where he will stay for approximately 4-5 days. He is recovering quickly and well. I am so proud of him!
Way to go Dad!

And in honor of rockstars, I have changed the tunes on my blog. I ocassionally like to rock out a bit, and when I am feeling that way I like to listen to Creed. Well, they just released a new song...and I am in love! And more recently I have heard some new Muse songs on the radio too, so I added a few of my favorites for your listening pleasure as well. But, my heart will always belong to the Backstreet Boys and I was so excited to see them perform on Conan O'Brien last night (I had no idea). So I had to include their newest song too. Seriously...I just want to go to the store and buy some new CDs...
Well folks, have a great weekend! I will keep you updated on my father's progress and try to add some other things as well. It's just been a crazy week!!!

Good news!

Surgery is over. Dad is recovering. The doctors said all went well. Not only did they remove his aortic valve (and replaced it with a pig valve), they also removed a small piece of aorta...which appeared to be a little swollen. They figured they would take care of it now before it became a problem. {Smart} So, now the long road begins. He will be in the ICU for several days and then will get to avoid driving and using his upper body for the next month. There is a small chance the parentals may be able to fly back to AZ for a few days, but we are not sure about that yet. For now they are in good hands...lots of family and support in Utah. {A blessing} I am glad all went well. Good luck Daddy-O! Love ya lots!

update

{GOOD NEWS}

At this moment in time, the dad is doing well. He had an angiogram (?) yesterday afternoon which showed that his heart is great, but the aortic valve is narrow. Therefore, open heart surgery is still necessary to replace the valve...and that will take place on Thursday. He will be in the ICU for a few days and still won't be able to drive or do much for one month. The doctors don't seem worried at all about this surgery and call it routine. I also have not been worried about this...which is very surprising. Maybe if I were in Utah and seeing it all happen it would be different...

There has been no passing out since Saturday (thanks to a healthy dose or three of cough syrup) and the parentals actually got to go home and sleep in their own beds last night. They will check back into the hospital on Wednesday afternoon to begin prepping for surgery.

Anyway...that is the latest. Thanks for all of your love, support, well wishes and prayers...they have been felt! Please continue praying for his speedy recovery. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE

Pray for my Daddy:
The parentals are in Utah right now and were supposed to fly home today. However, my dear father has had some medical issues since Thursday and is in the hospital for the next little while. To make a long story short, my father has been passing out...quite often, and doctors have linked it to a narrowed valve in his heart. Most likely he will be having open heart surgery on Tuesday, will remain in the hospital for about one week, and then will not be able to do much for one month. If you can be so kind as to keep him in your prayers this week, I (and my family) would greatly appreciate it.
I feel very calm about this whole thing. The Lord has strengthened me and I am confident that all will work out as it should. I love my dad. He is amazing! I never take the time to let him know that I appreciate him, but I know that he knows.
In fact, just this last week I called my dad while he was in Utah to tell him how much I appreciated him because he gave me this amazing electric tree trimmer. It made taming the jungle of my backyard a breeze...I destroyed all of my overgrown plants in a matter of minutes. My dad is always so thoughtful and willing to lend a helping hand whenever he can. So now it is time for me to repay the favor...
Anyway, my dad is awesome and I wish him all the best. I LOVE YOU DAD!!!
