excuse me

I've never claimed to be an extremely outgoing or talkative person. I am not one to go out of my way to talk to a stranger or to get attention. But with that being said, I am not a recluse either. I welcome friends and affection, I like social gatherings and girl talk.
However...
I have this personal bubble. And I don't always want people up in my face! You have to earn your way into my bubble. So why do people think it's ok to force their way in? Sometimes I just want to scream, "back off!" Please tell me I am not the only person who feels this way?!
A little space is all I am asking for...

Super Mario Bros

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to participate in another special birthday party. This time it was Sandy's birthday, and this time there was a Super Mario Bros theme. Check out the fantastic costumes the party throwers wore:

(Tricia as Princess Peach, Sandy as Luigi, and Mari as Mario)

A nice photo op was set up:

And all of the guests were given some sweet mustaches:

I thought the picture below was extremely creepy:

Mostly because I look like a creepy old man, but also because I am wearing an "I LOVE BOYS" necklace. Say it with me, "Creepy!"

We had some intense Nerf Wars, played some Super Mario Bros, and enjoyed a relaxing game of croquet:

Alayna, party of 1

Yeah, so I'm a little behind in my blogging, but I have some sweet pics from my solo SuperBowl party that needed posting. Ok, I wasn't all alone...I partied with my mom...but I might as well have been alone. She was NO FUN!!! Normally my mother is a football freak, but for some reason she wasn't feeling it on Sunday. Therefore, I pretty much made my own party. I brought my own props:

And, of course, I dressed the part:
I wore my football earrings (that is some sweet hair I am sportin')
my Superbowl ring

and my fabulous new $3 shirt (the shot is a bit inappropriate...I apologize).
Perhaps the best part of the night was trash talking via text with my friend in Utah. Every year we have a Super Bowl competition. Usually I will pick the team I like and she is stuck with the lesser team. We cheer against each other, and I pretty much win every year. However, this year she happened to express her desire to cheer for the Colts on another friends' blog...which is who I secretly wanted to win. So, like the good friend that I am, I decided to cheer for the Saints instead. And...you all know what happened! Woohoo!!! Needless to say, my friend was pretty upset that she lost AGAIN.
I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!

D-Day

Well, the big decision has been made. Actually, the decision was made about 3 minutes ago. It has been prayed and pondered about for weeks. The answer has been difficult to understand and interpret, so I made a little phone call to get some imput and clarification, and now I really know. Such a relief! Are you ready for this??

I am going through the Salt Lake Temple!!!

The date is not set up yet, but will most likely be the last week in March or the beginning of April. I really hope all of my Salt Lake pals and family members can come and share in this exciting event with me! I will definitely post the exact details when they are finalized.

Woohoo!!

mocktail party

Last weekend our friend Mari turned 21. What better way for some LDS kids to celebrate the age of legality than with non-alcoholic drinking fun? There was lots of food, lots of friends, some yummy mocktails, some nerf gun wars, group games, and the famous photo booth. Enjoy some candid shots from the night, followed by a shot of my photo booth pics now adorning the wall above my bed:

Smile

I'm not gonna lie, Monday was a pretty rough day for me (actually the whole last week has been a little difficult). I thought I was doing pretty good at not allowing negativity to enter into my life, but then IT just blew me over...which resulted in me being pretty cranky. However, I am now over it and all is well. I changed my attitude and things have been improving. So just for fun, I have compiled a list of things that have made me smile this week and have directly correlated to my change of attitude. I hope they make you smile too!

*Urbandictionary.com: There is a little something going around on Facebook that says to go to the website listed and type in your name to get a description of the type of person you are. I believe my description is pretty comical:

A girl who is known for jumping elderly men in the night time dressed as Pocahontas. This person is liked by the elderly men and so she abuses her power over them with her random attacks.

Jade: My grandpa was attacked yesterday, late at night.

Juliet: How terrible!

Gretchin: Must have been Alayna!

I thought it was pretty funny. Most of the other definitions were perverted and had to do with naughty things, so I didn't post them. I have no idea how people come up with this stuff! And just for the record, I love the elderly.

*"In My Head" by Jason DeRulo. Yes, the song is a little bit naughty, but the music, the beat, the singer's voice, etc are phenomenal. Listening to it makes me giddy and motivates me to push a little harder when I work out at the gym.

*Speaking of naughty, I was driving down the freeway the other day and I saw this large yellow paper attached to the back of a semi:

I immediately laughed out loud and then grabbed the cell phone to take a pic. The sign says "Boobies make me smile." Those particular things don't make ME smile, but I still giggled. I wonder if the driver had any idea that a big yellow note was posted to his truck...

*Michael Bublé. I LOVE him. I am obsessed with him this week. He is amazing. And his new CD melts my heart.

*I got to visit my co-worker and her brand new baby boy. He is to-die-for adorable and it was so fun to hold him. I am so excited for my friend and her new little adventure.

*#10 x 2. Who would have thought?! This one was 20 times better than the last one. Such a gentleman and actually funny. The laughter I expelled was real and not just a courtesy. Good times.

*The FedEx delivery boy. Mmm Mmm good! As I mentioned on Facebook, he keeps delivering packages to us in the front office that should really be delivered to our warehouse receiving department in the back. But I can't tell him because I would much rather see his beautiful face each day and walk to packages back to the receiving department myself. He is that yummy...

*Friends. I have great ones both here in AZ and in UT. Just knowing that is enough to get me through the hard times!

So, life is good. All is well. I am smiling. And hopefully this has made you smile too!

1 word

hmmm...

Sometimes life has a way of kicking you in the panties. No time to explain, so I will just leave it at that.
