don't worry

The other day I got something exciting at work. The mailman delivered this little package to me:

I mean, obviously it's for me. The name is close enough right? I am not sure who this company is or how they got my name, but I get a few random pieces of mail with my name spelled this way on ocassion. It always seems to make me smile. But this time was especially exciting because this is what I found in the package:
Bwahahahahaha! I nearly died when I saw this little gem in the package. What is this gem you might ask? Well, here is a little sampling of the letter that came with the gem:
Yep, they offered me some free tech support and I did not respond. They were sure that I would be worried, so they sent me this cute little worry doll to help ease the anxiety. I mean just look at her! What is there to worry about when you look at a face this comforting?
Well, since the workplace has been a little chaotic and/or stressful lately, this little worry doll was just what I needed. So I added her to my workspace. Here's the fun part. Let's play "Where's Worry Doll?"
Do you see her in all the clutter??
Need a hint??
How 'bout a closer look:
Ah! There she is! Such a beauty! And such a wonderful addition to my work space.
I know you are jealous...

Weekly Wonderment

I know, I am a lame blogger these days. But I have a good excuse: I am too busy playing and enjoying the single life! Woohoo! And what's even more lame is I actually updated my blog a few days ago, and not many people have commented or probably even looked at it. I guess people have given up on me...

But don't give up! I am here!

To avoid lameness in the future I am implementing a new blog segment (if you will) called Weekly Wonderment. You see, it all started when I had a game night at my house. My dear friend left her game at my house, I opened the box, laughed for atleast an hour reading the cards, and then decided that it would be fun to post some of these things on my blog. The game is called Would You Rather. I know atleast one other person has done something like this on their blog, but I am gonna copy and do it too! So every week I am gonna post a little off-the-wall question, and I want you ALL to participate. This way you will come back to my blog more often (I hope) and then I won't seem so lame to you. Right?

So here goes...

In honor of my single life (and possibly hinting to my previous post)...Would you rather...

date a person who is constantly humming
-or-
someone who repeats everything you just said?

Let's hear it for the girls!

Labor Day Weekend. What a great time! The girls and I had originally planned to go on a weekend getaway to our friend's cabin, but some last minute worries changed our plans. So, instead, we headed to another getaway location about 2 hours closer...the Holbrook Hideaway (aka my parents' house). Not much of a getaway, but it was still a house to ourselves where we could play loud music, dance, chill in the jacuzzi, stay up late, eat lots of crap, talk about boys, wear no make-up, bask in the sun and, of course, go swimming. We had such a fun time!

And now, a recap...complete with pictures.

Friday night a few of us went to Chick-Fil-A for some yummy-ness and shakes. After we were nice and bloated we decided to live it up a little...and went to Walmart! Woohoo! We had been talking about boys, but mostly we were talking about these 2 boys in particular that one of us likes. We were each torn by which boy we liked better for this one girl, so competing teams were formed. We thought it would be funny to make shirts stating which team we were on. But then it just turned into a night of making shirts about the boys we each liked. Yep, we are strange. But I wouldn't change it for the world!
Tawnya and Daja excited to make shirts

More shirt preparation

This may or may not be the shirt that I made...

The final results. We are lookin' hot!!!

After making shirts we had a small dance party, talked about boys some more, and then decided to take a little dip in the jacuzzi.
Doesn't Mari look awesome?!!

After sweating in the jacuzzi we basically just talked some more, danced some more, and decided to unwind by watching a movie (27 Dresses). The plan was to have a giant sleepover in the family room, but the actuality of empty beds throughout the house won over (except for Tawnya who fell asleep on the floor the second the movie started and didn't wake up as we all headed to our beds). It was a late night...and a relatively early morning.

The next day we thought it would be fun to go to Target because Mari wanted in on the "team" shirts. However, we got a little sidetracked...
(Dear friend, please don't kill me for posting this picture!!)

Needless to say, we each walked out with some unnecessary items and spent a little more than we had planned on.

The rest of the afternoon was spent swimming, eating junk food, talking about boys...ya know, the usual.

It was a great weekend!
