a bunch of P.S.

Today I feel: partly cloudy with a chance of rain

P.S. I tried both the Fuji and Golden Delicious apples and this is my report: The Fuji apple was good. I liked it better than the Gala apple, but there was nothing spectacular about it. It tasted a lot like a Red Delicious apple. I did not get as excited as the lady at the store, but I think I would buy one again. On the other hand, the Golden Delicious apple was SUPER SOUR!! Wow! It was a party in my mouth, but I am not sure that it was my favorite party. I am not really a huge fan of sour things or candy for that matter, so when I felt like I had eaten a gallon of candy after just one bite...it was interesting. However, that is not to say that I didn't like it. I may possibly eat another one in my lifetime, but given the fact that it took me nearly two hours to eat just one apple, it may be a while before I experience it again. Not bad though. So this is my conclusion: All apples are created equal. I don't favor one brand over another and there is definitely not any brand I can't live without. So when I go to the store to purchase apples from now on, I will probably just choose the variety that happens to be on sale...

P.S.S. This has not been my favorite week. Work has been crazy and the personal life has been just as crazy...

P.S.S.S. My friend Sarah got engaged last night! I am happy for her, but sad for me. One less friend in my already dwindling friend stash...

P.S.S.S.S. He's gone :(

remember that time...

...that I went to Oregon? Well, I did...back in June. I was there over my birthday for my cousins wedding. I promised a post about it...and then forgot. Luckily I have awesome cousins in Oregon to remind me that I am slacking on my duties. So this one's for you Becky!

First and foremost I have to say that I love, love, loved Oregon! It is such a beautiful place! I am amazed by the stunning landscapes. I loved driving along the Oregon coast and seeing pine trees next to the ocean. It was breathtaking! The first day in Oregon, my awesome cousin took my parents and I to visit the ocean. But before we got there we stopped in a little town called Tillamook, home of the Tillamook Cheese Factory:
I had no thoughts of what to expect at the cheese factory, but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised! It was awesome to see the cheese making process. Quite intriguing indeed! I was extremely grateful that I did not work at the cheese factory because the thought of people staring at me while I work is not appealing. There is no such thing as laziness or goofing off when the whole world watches your every move. Nonetheless, it was fun to see. We got to sample all sorts of yummy cheese cubes and then we visited the souvenir shop to buy more cheese, a shot glass, a postcard and some of the world's best tasting ice cream. Perhaps my favorite part of the cheese factory tour was the fact that there were several photo ops set up everywhere. Here I am with my father:
Here I am posing with my cousin and my mother...and some cows:
This is me...typical me...being inappropriate, and wishing that my dad would hurry and take a picture before the tourists around me see what I am doing. Honk, honk!
And this is by far my favorite picture because it is so out of my mom's element. She never likes to do fun things for pictures, but for some reason the urge was too strong this day. It was embarrassing for all involved, but sure makes for a great scrapbook page!

After the Tillamook Cheese Factory we drove along the Oregon Coast on our way to Cannon Beach. Mind you, it was freezing cold and rainy that day...not your typical beach going weather. But despite mother nature's fury, it was still a great trip. Here is a picture I snapped out the window of our moving car of some rocks sticking up out of the ocean:
Beautiful right? Once we arrived at the beach it was time to get in the water...or not. Did I mention it was freezing? My mother and I thought we were going to die! We were bundled in our paper thin jackets and wishing the wind would stop blowing. I appear to be being blown over by the wind in this picture, but really I am just uncoordinated and am about to fall over due to lack of equilibrium:
While walking along the beach and wishing for sunshine I came upon this jellyfish. I am pretty sure it was dead, but I had to give it a few good squishes just in case:
And here I am, freezing again, but smiling for a picture of the beautiful rock formations in the ocean. Wish you were here:

What we did with our time after the beach and before the wedding is a blur. Actually, I think the wedding was the day after the beach...so maybe I am not forgetting anything. Regardless, my favorite, favorite experience while in Oregon just happened to take place on my birthday...and was kind of my birthday present from my cousin. You see, the guy she married has a llama, an alpaca and some goats. One of their engagement photos included their woodland friends, which peaked my interest and made me desire some shots with the animals myself. So the morning of my birthday (and the wedding) I was able to visit the animals and feed them. Here they are, anxious to greet us:
The llama was a little cranky at first, and the alpaca was just a scaredy cat, so it was mostly me and my mom feeding the goats. They were pretty much freaks...jumping up and sticking their head out of the gate for FOOD!
Pretty soon my llama friend decided it would be ok to eat out of my bucket, so we got to bond:
We really bonded (and exchanged some besos):
And once the alpaca realized that besos were involved, she ran right over and wanted food out of my bucket too! She/he/it (I am not really sure) was just a little skinny thing, so I tried to push the goats away to make sure the alpaca got some food, or what was left of it.
Yep, my llama/alpaca/goat feeding experience was thrilling...the perfect way to start my birthday...

Later on that day I got to witness my cousin get married. I am not going to post those pictures, but will just say that it was a nice wedding and a beautiful day. It was great spending time with cousins/family I have not seen in a very long time. However, I HAVE to post this picture of my cousin because I think it is hilarious! At one point during the reception we were all given glow necklaces (and for the life of me, I can't remember why). My cousin decided to make some snorkel gear with a combination of the necklaces. Not only did he sport it for a while, he then decided to take a picture, hanging from a tree over the lake. It was comical to say the least...

My family is great...and Oregon was awesome! I can't wait to go back...someday...

just because i know you are wondering...

the gala apple was ok. honestly, the two that i consumed each tasted different so it is hard to say if i liked them or not. one tasted like a cross between a red and green apple, while the other almost had a peach taste to it. strange, i know. some parts of the apple were crispy, other parts were mushy. obviously, i am no good at picking out gala apples. any tips for future apple purchases? so sadly, i won't be climbing to any rooftops to loudly proclaim my love for them. sorry to disappoint all you gala apple lovers...

however, the quest does not stop there. based on your feedback i purchased one golden delicious apple and one fuji apple. i have not tasted them yet, but i will let you know if i find my new favorite apple any time soon. i thought the lady who checked me out at the store was going to have cardiac arrest when she saw me buying a fuji apple. she raved about them! i have never seen anyone get so excited about an apple in my life! i guess we will just have to see if she is right...

p.s. i have several things to post about...but just haven't had the time. life is chaos right now. but i promise an update soon!

Today I am feeling...

...adventurous!
My whole life I have always purchased Red Delicious apples and enjoyed them because the name says it all...they are delicious! I have tried green apples (aka granny smith apples) but they don't really do anything for me. Well yesterday I took a trip to Walmart and decided to try something new...to branch out if you will. So I bought some Gala apples...but only 2 because I didn't know if I would like them...
At this very moment I am going to try my first ever Gala apple. I am livin' on the edge!!!

{wish me luck}

i got tagged!!!

Wahoo! I have not been tagged in quite some time, and honestly I have been suffering from bloggers block and lack of desire to take pictures. This tag is quite personal and some answers may be disturbing…but I can’t leave a question unanswered…that is bad blogging etiquette. I hope you enjoy this journey through my memories.

your favorites:

COLOR:: pink fo’ sho’.
SPORT:: To Play - volleyball. To Watch - football.
HOLIDAY:: Christmas, Halloween & Easter. I just love any excuse to get out the decorations!
FOOD:: Hmm…that’s a tough one. I really like French toast, chicken mango quesadillas, most things Mexican or Peruvian and, of course, the fattening things like cookies and cheesecake.

this or that:

HUGS OR KISSES:: from brown boys I like kisses. I do like hugs, but I don’t like hugging random people or those I don’t know very well.
PEPSI OR COKE:: Pepsi please.
MCDONALDS OR BURGER KING:: I never have really gone to Burger King that much, so I would choose McDonalds. Gotta love the kids meals!
CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA:: a little of both...
LOVER OR FIGHTER:: I am with Emily on this one…I love to fight. But deep down I am a lover.
FRIENDS OR FAMILY:: both.
LOVE OR MONEY:: these days some money would be nice, but I long to be loved more than I long to have worldly things.
LISTEN TO SOMEONE TALK OR TALKING:: I’ve always preferred to listen.
PERSONALITY OR LOOKS:: Because of my life experiences, I have always valued personality more than looks. Besides, a great personality makes someone cuter.

love:

*disclaimer: we all know that my love life has not really existed. I have only had one boyfriend in my life and I have never really been asked out on a date (by an LDS boy anyway). So…this section is going to be short and sweet…*

ARE YOU IN LOVE:: at this very moment, I am not sure.
DO U BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT:: I’m sure it can happen.
IN TWO WORDS WHY DID YOUR LAST RELATIONSHIP END:: can't say
WOULD YOU GO OUT WITH SOMEONE JUST FOR THEIR MONEY:: I like the idea of dating someone who has money, but that would not be my prime reason.
DO YOU GO ON "PITY DATES":: haven’t had the chance to…but I am sure some guys who have gone out with me feel that way.
EVER CHEATED ON SOMEONE:: I could never do that to someone.

who is the last person:

YOU HUGGED:: I think it was Sarah…I am not sure though.
TOLD YOU THEY LOVED YOU:: a brown boy
YELLED AT YOU:: Can’t remember. Probably a disgruntled customer.
YOU SAID YOU HATED:: Probably the last person that yelled at me.
BROKE YOUR HEART:: myself.
MESSAGED YOU:: Sarah
YOU SENT A FRIENDS REQUEST TO:: strangely enough, it was my boss

random:

DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF:: a year ago, probably not. Today, yes.
DO YOU THINK UR ATTRACTIVE:: I think I have a lot of great qualities and have potential to be sexy…if I could just motivate myself to stick to a diet!
WHAT STAR/CELEBRITY DO MOST PEOPLE SAY YOU RESEMBLE:: I have never been told that I resemble a celebrity. I have no idea who it would even be that I look like…let me get back to you on this one.
MOVIE YOU SAW IN THE THEATER:: Wow! I haven’t been to a movie in a long time. I will have to get back to you on this one too.
CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH:: Sometimes.
BIGGEST FEAR:: Do you even have to ask? I suffer from a fear of vomit. Not so much me vomiting, but someone else vomiting around me and me not being able to get away from it. I can tell you everytime in my life someone has puked near me. In fact, I work at a place where a bathroom with 4 stalls is shared by many women. There have been a lot of pregnant girls who have had morning sickness at work. I have intense fear everytime I step into that bathroom. It is insane! I need a therapist!!! Needless to say, I don’t pee very much at work.
MOST MISSED MEMORY:: I have actually been thinking a lot about my Nauvoo days lately. Those were some good times indeed!
FIRST THOUGHT WAKING UP:: Why did I tell Sarah I would go to the gym at 5am with her when I have the day off of work?!
IF YOU DONT RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER ON YOUR CALLER ID, DO YOU ANSWER:: Not usually.
BEST FRIEND:: I don’t know that I have one specific best friend…just several in different areas. In the boy category it would be my brown boy, in the AZ category it would be Sarah, in the Utah category it would be a tie between 6.
FRIEND WHO THINKS THE MOST LIKE YOU:: sadly my mom and I think a lot alike. I don’t want to be one of those crazy girls who grows up and dresses and cuts her hair like her mom though. Joey and I also think a lot alike. We have interesting minds…

That's all. So in the tagging tradition I will tag: Katy, Nikki, Joey, Natalie, Charlene, Janalee, any of the Utah girls who were not already tagged, and anyone else who reads this post. Have fun and I can’t wait to read your answers!

ya know what i hate?

i hate drivers who do not comprehend the concept of the fast lane...especially when i am driving to/from work. seriously, if you are going to go the speed limit, get over into another lane. the speed limits are just guidelines anyway...

however, if you must drive slow, please have the decency to post it on your car, like the guy i saw on the road today. no joke, he has vinyl letters on his rear window that say:

55mph = better mpg
my choice
yes, he was going approximately 55mph, but atleast he was in the far right lane. needless to say, i passed him...and so did several others.
{ahhh!!!}
